5MF – A Secret Involving Social Content Hacking…

Today, I want to let you in on a secret.

This 5 Minute Friday (5MF) will guarantee that you will walk away with a time savings/multiplier if you utilize this secret app that has saved me a tremendous amount of time over the past year…

Where do I find the time?

How do I find the topics to get after from time to time here on this blog?

Well, I have been testing and adopting more than a few bits of automation aimed in a few different directions.

There are a variety of content aggregators out there, and they vary widely.  One of my absolute favorites for my phone/mobile use cases is called Feedly.

I use it primarily to pull in from social media – my top blogs and podcasts (that publish show notes) – to keep tabs on relevant peers and select topics that I am interested in.

Feedly can be used to isolate select keywords spanning multiple sources that you can configure, and it pulls the content down into your mobile device.

Even more interesting than sourcing from social content and keywords – is this – it has the ability to track what is trending across your sources and keywords.  This notion of popularity-based rankings is something that I have used from time to time to get some inspiration for researching some articles.

For example if you were interested in learning more about neural networks – drop that keyword in there to begin sourcing ranked content from a variety of sources.  Feedly does the rest.  By the way, you will be hearing much more about artificial intelligence and neural networks among other related topics in the coming days/weeks.  There is substantial upheaval underway thanks to these emanating waves of change.

There are other content aggregation services and hacks to be had, and a variety of ways in which curated content can be applied across any Dimensions of Life that you have going on.

In my experience over the past year, this Feedly app has been a distinct advantage when sourcing content from more bleeding edge/social sources than the more traditional sources that are typically indexed poorly by Google until enough traffic warrants their algorithms to pull it forward onto the top results page.

A straightforward way to source unique points of view many of you have probably never heard of.

Will you give this app a shot?
